Promoting Healthy Buildings with the
WELL Building Standard & WELL Health-Safety Rating
The International WELL Building InstituteTM established the WELL Building Standard and WELL Health-Safety Rating as part of the global movement to transform buildings and communities and to advocate for policies that promote health and wellness.
About the WELL Building Standard
The WELL Building Standard takes a holistic approach to health in the built environment addressing behavior, operations and design. WELL is a performance-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring features of the built environment that impact human health and well-being. Learn more at wellcertified.com.
About the WELL Health-Safety Rating
Adapted from features in the WELL Building Standard that focus on facilities, maintenance and operations, the WELL Health-Safety Rating is designed to guide and empower the actions of businesses in taking the necessary steps to prioritize the health and safety of their staff, visitors and stakeholders.
The WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating focused on operational policies, maintenance protocols, emergency plans and stakeholder engagement strategies to help organizations prepare their spaces for re-entry in a post COVID-19 environment.
Upon achieving the designation, the International WELL Building Institute will issue the building or space a WELL Health-Safety seal. To learn more about the WELL Health-Safety Rating and to enroll, please visit wellcertified.com/health-safety.
