Ryan Afromsky Managing Partner
Ryan Afromsky is Managing Partner for Advanced Green Solutions. While Ryan was in college, he came up with an idea for a grilled cheese concept restaurant. Following his graduation and a few years of working in restaurants led Ryan to a dream turned into reality. What was once a picture of a grilled cheese sandwich in a magazine, soon turned into a restaurant in Culver City, CA called meltDOWN etc. At just 26, Ryan built the restaurant into an overnight success even before the doors opened. The buzz alone garnered media interest and exposure with Ryan appearing in numerous print articles and on TV. meltDOWN etc was a cheese-lovers dream that served the ultimate comfort food. Although the restaurant did not sustain the economic downturn, it proved a valuable learning experience. While reading a number of books to his three-year-old nephew one night, a thought popped into his head, “Why not tell my story to young children?” A few nights later was this ideas was realized when Ryan wrote, “I Have A Restaurant” Based on a day at meltDOWN etc., Ryan incorporated all aspects of his daily life at the restaurant he built and created into the book. Ryan explains an entire day with all of its ups and downs, so children would see that there is more to food appearing in front of their faces magically … but it doesn’t end there. Ryan plans to write more books about professions and jobs so children will get an insight into how the business world works in a fun and informative manner. Ryan teamed up with Emmy® Award winner Ron Noble to illustrate the book and the rest is history. Ryan graduated from the University of Miami (FL) with a dual degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
